Getting Relative With the Inevitable and Catching Greenlights, with Matthew McConaughey

Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey is a married man, a father of three children, and a loyal son and brother. He considers himself a storyteller by occupation, believes it’s okay to have a beer on the way to the temple, feels better with a day’s sweat on him, and is an aspiring orchestral conductor.

In 2009, Matthew and his wife, Camila, founded the just keep livin Foundation, which helps at-risk high school students make healthier mind, body, and spirit choices.

In 2019, McConaughey became a professor of practice at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as Minister of Culture/M.O.C. for the University of Texas and the City of Austin. McConaughey is also brand ambassador for Lincoln Motor Company, an owner of the Major League Soccer club Austin FC, and co-creator of his favorite bourbon on the planet, Wild Turkey Longbranch.

One thing you can expect from Matthew McConaughey is that he always has something interesting to say. He is also introspective and emotional. He is curious and fun. And, every so often, a little eccentric.

This combination of thoughtfulness and strangeness finds its way into the roles he plays, which makes him a fan favorite. Greenlights is his way to seize the day and constantly be moving forward — a life lesson he has learned and is eager to share.

I want to read his book, I’m mad I don’t have it yet. I have always thought that he was the complete package. He’d be fantastic in politics. He’s got a great sense of humor too. He’s one of my favs.

Read the book. Get ready for a big ride! If you expect the ordinary and usual you better fasten your seat belt. He’s a man unafraid to face life up front and personal. GiGi Griffin
