How Archie Gips Lives “Unrealistically” and Creates Value Along the Way

Archie Gips is president and partner of Unrealistic Ideas, a full-service production company he created alongside Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson that focuses on premium non-scripted television, documentary film, and podcasting. The company produced the 5-time Emmy nominated documentary series, McMillions, for HBO, the IDA nominated documentary Run This City for The Roku Channel, and the current hit doc series, Wahl Street which streams on HBO Max among others.

Archie, a two-time Emmy nominated producer, and award-winning director & writer have created hundreds of hours of content for television and film including some of the most successful non-scripted series ever. A native New Yorker, Archie attended Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Communications, trained at Chicago’s Second City Improvisational Conservatory, and received an MFA in film and dramatic writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

The six-episode documentary series offers fans a glimpse into global star Mark Wahlberg’s life as he juggles the demands of a rigorous film schedule coupled with an ever-growing network of diverse businesses including his clothing line, MUNICIPAL; his gym studio, F45; restaurant chain Wahlburgers; and his production company, Unrealistic Ideas. Along the way, viewers will learn powerful business and life lessons as he navigates the numerous challenges of a global pandemic, all while trying to maintain and expand his vast portfolio. Wahl Street will also introduce the cast of colorful characters that make up Wahlberg’s real-life entourage.
